Hi CSea, Green jobs — everyone’s talking about them, but does anyone actually have one?

“CSea responded, yes, I do.  Many others do as well but relative to those without any income opportunity; look harder because they are there.  Ask if you can’t find them.”

takeactionIf not, can we expect them soon? After all, the U.S. is in economic trouble now, and we can’t afford to wait years for their impact. Well, it turns out that green jobs are already here. Duke University released a report that links low-carbon jobs to growth in U.S. manufacturing.

Now we just have to make sure that our government officials take advantage of tools for identifying and nourishing these jobs. Let your state’s governor know about these jobs. » The Environmental Defense Fund has created a series of online maps that show these low-carbon jobs. These maps finally bring the idea of “green jobs” to life, and offer workers and officials the opportunity to find out which jobs are truly green. We need every governor in the country to be aware of what EDF is doing.

And we need to encourage the governors to promote capping carbon as a way of incentivizing these low-carbon companies. It’s time to spread the word. Tell your governor that you want your state to be at the forefront of the green jobs revolution! » Take action link: http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AFlh2/zjYb/baV0m
